A Surfer's Nirvana
We are located in front of Suicides.
In the Mentawais, surfers of all skill levels can discover waves that match their abilities, from beginners to advanced riders. The region boasts a diverse array of breaks, ranging from gentle breaks to more intense waves. While it is famous for its neighboring wave, Telescopes, many spots are accessible to surfers of every level, making it an ideal destination for everyone.
Additionally, we are proud to introduce our good friend, Dr. Montee, who will be providing Telehealth services. As the only island in all of Mentawais with a hospital, we want to ensure peace of mind in case of emergencies. Our goal is to create a haven where you’ll never want to leave, but when you do, you’ll carry with you a renewed sense of “Ki.”
Suicides
The name truly captures its essence. Suicides is a high-octane, all-out freight train barrel that demands expertise. This unpredictable spot delivers fast, unforgiving barrels, making it suitable only for seasoned surfers. While it occasionally offers moments of perfection, you'll often find yourself riding solo. When a strong ground swell is present, most surfers tend to bypass the lineup, choosing instead to ride the safer waves nearby. This wave is a quick paddle out from our doorstep.

Telescopes
Nestled among the treasures of the Mentawais, Telescopes is a premier lefthander that caters to surfers of all skill levels, consistently delivering enjoyable rides. This wave breaks on various swells, but truly excels with a solid west swell. When conditions are right, surfers can pull right in after the takeoff and set themselves up for a long, straight barrel. Even in the deepest part of the barrel, you'll likely be ejected onto a section of the reef that allows for multiple chances to perform some top turns. This bend in the reef curves back, offering a fantastic opportunity for a second impressive tube. Even when Telescopes is smaller or has more south in the swell, it remains a highly rippable wave. It accommodates both natural and goofy footers, thanks to its easy entry and clean, manageable walls. The reef is not overly sharp, providing safe zones for those looking to play it cautious.

Scarecrows
Often overshadowed by its more famous neighbor, Telescopes, Scarecrows is an incredibly consistent left that graces a stunning tropical island. While Telescopes receives much of the acclaim, this remarkable wave frequently goes unnoticed, especially during larger swells. Scarecrows features several easy take-off spots, effectively accommodating and dispersing the crowd. With its diverse characteristics, this wave consistently delivers quality rides throughout the main season. Surfers can expect to enjoy rides exceeding 200 yards, with the final section, known as "The Curry Bowl," offering a delightful inside barrel. Like many breaks in the region, Scarecrows performs best on a fuller tide.

Tikus
Just a short boat ride from our Resort, you'll discover Tikus, an incredibly fun and easily rideable left-hand wave. This spot is perfect for beginners or anyone seeking a relaxed, crowd-free surfing experience, as it typically offers shoulder-high waves or smaller, even during peak surf season. It handles south winds exceptionally well and serves as the ideal alternative when the main surf spots are overwhelmed.

Icelands
Icelands is a great lefthander that basically has two completely different personas: Small Swell Icelands and Big Swell Icelands. When everywhere else in the area is flat, you can still pull up to Icelands and there will be a head-high, cruisey, rippable wall. But when a big west swell hits, Icelands turns into a monster with barrels big enough to drive the speedboat through. A deep ledge outside the normal take off zone causes the swell to lift in a way it does'’t do on smaller days, and allows you to get in with a fairly easy drop. The wave then rolls into a horseshoe shaped section where the wave bends onto itself and throws out a big, thick barrel section that spits nearly every time. Icelands is definitely one of the few (and best) true big wave spots in the Mentawais.

Ombak Tidur
If you find yourself stuck inside during a decent-sized west swell, you’ll quickly realize that this wave is anything but mellow. Located just down the reef from Icelands, this right-hander catches almost as much swell and can be a great choice when the wind has a bit of a north angle. The wave consists of several distinct right-hand sections that, from a distance, resemble the firing peaks of J-Bay. However, up close, you'll notice breaks in the reef and a variety of surfable spots. The peak at the top is usually the most reliable, offering fast walls and the occasional pit as it moves along the reef. Just be sure to choose wisely; picking the wrong wave on the first of a set could lead to a long paddle back, as the reef always seems to lack a shoulder when you're trying to get back out.

7 palm
When the Indian Ocean's swell isn’t producing much, 7 Palm Point is a fantastic alternative. This fun, well-formed left-hander offers rides that can stretch up to 200 yards. Surfers can experience unforgettable sessions, especially when the waves are shoulder to head high. Located just around the corner from Scarecrows, this year-round reef break often allows for solitary sessions.

Twiggies
Another great spot for high tide, Twiggies is a fun wave to explore, particularly when Telescopes feels crowded or choppy. Twiggies presents two unique faces, largely influenced by the swell direction. West swells create heavier, walled barrels, while south swells wrap around the reef, providing fast, rideable walls. Although it's generally less intense than Suicides, surfers should remain cautious of the inside section, which can occasionally catch you off guard.

Hookers
A frequently underestimated wave that has the potential to deliver fast lefthanders, complete with speed walls and a variety of tube sections. However, the precise timing of when this wave truly shines remains a closely guarded secret. In truth, it's inconsistent, only delivering solid conditions sporadically. It's believed that west swells interact with the reef more effectively. When everything comes together, you can anticipate some quality tube time.

G-4
Just a 10-minute boat ride away, you'll find an uncrowded wave that most camps don’t even consider to check. You can reach G4 from Tikus in about 5 minutes, making it an excellent choice for surfer who wants to score alone. While it may not be as pristine as the other neighboring waves, on the right swell direction, G-4 can be a barreling, fun wave. This makes it a perfect option for anyone seeking a relaxed, crowd-free surf session. Additionally, both waves handle south winds exceptionally well.
